Jade as my "Guest Blogger" with more clues

I'm am so impressed with your answers. You guys have really been paying attention to my previous posts! The answer is not a "Jade Bot". Because so many of you guessed a Jade Bot , I  asked her to be a "Guest Blogger" today and give you some more clues in the right direction. (Already, a  few of you have guessed closed enough and will be receiving the 25%:) To read more of Jade's wondrous blogs visit her blog @http://isgreenjaded.wordpress.com/

It was Christmas Eve. We had all chipped in to give my mother a massage as a gift.  Meg had round curled bangs, and Dia still played the Backstreet Boys none stop. I was too young to be let in on such a great surprise for my mother. During Christmas Eve dinner, my mother told us all how tired she was. She then looked right at me and said, “I’m ready for Santa to come tomorrow and take care of Christmas.”. HA! I thought. I knew there was no Santa. Just to prove my point I blurted out across the dinner table, “Oh really, Mom? That’s good. Because I think he’s giving you a massage for Christmas!” Meg and Dia choked on their mashed potatoes, and you know those large sweet eyes Dia has? Well they were burning fireballs suddenly that melted my face. I had just given away the surprise!

So now that I am notoriously known for giving away surprises, Meg called me and asked me to “do my blogging thing.” and I hope I don't give too much away. I’m going to try to be as vague as possible about Meg’s little surprise (meaning it will probably be so obvious even YOUR MOM could get it. So, c’mon people. Work with me.)

This surprise thrives in adventure. It will get as much pleasure from discovering you as you will discovering it. Think Calvin and Hobbes goes into the woods. More that type of deal. Ya dig? And you may be thinking to yourself…"Meg was talking about journalism, Jade, you are way off." Well, YOU are way off, my friend!!! For I am never wrong. I’ll connect the dots here and whisper an idea in your head. If you were in a new land…Wouldn’t you want a snap shot of it?

Okay, Meg’s gonna kill me for “giving it away” again. I still honestly don’t know if I have been forgiven for that Christmas. Maybe if I get Meg a surprise massage, she will forgive me…Oh wait, did I just type that on her blog? Shoot. Done it again.

Good luck First Thursday high-achievers. May tomorrow be 25% better for you!

  1. Tintin? That's an old comic...with adventure in it! Yeah, Tintin is my answer

  2. I'd re-guess Tintin too instead of Peter Parker, although I'd love a Peter Parker bot. Who was close from the last post?

  3. I would guess tintin as well, and I hope it is cause my mom is French and loves tintin; it'd be a great present. If it is tintin, I wonder if Meg made a little Snowy-bot to go along with it.

  4. I'd have to agree and say Tintin, definitely Tintin. The clues fit so perfectly to describe him.

  5. Based on the nice clues Jade gave, my guess would be Tintin as well. I'm looking forward to the unveiling of the new robot tomorrow. I love Meg's work, and enjoy her blog entries.

  6. Yeah, now TinTin definitely makes sense for me b/c of the C&H reference, haha! X3

  7. Tintin all the way! Journalism... new adventures.

  8. TIN TIN! :D

I was thinking either jade or a reporter on your previous post.

but now that i look at these clues, Calvin and Hobbes, makes me think of tin tin, and who was also a reporter!!!!!!!!

    It all adds up!!!!!!

  12. People are cheating now...

    pshh whats a Tintin? ;)

I say it's a Peter Pan bot! Ya know, because Jade likes green.

  13. you gotta have Snowy with Tin Tin, coz they went on every adventure together...shouldn't separate them.

  14. I don't know anything about Tin Tin to confirm those guesses or not, but if I'm trying to look at it from Meg's point of view, I don't see anything distinctive enough from Tin Tin or Snowy that would make it a cool looking robot. (that reddish wavy hair would make the bot look more like Conan :)

    I could be wrong though!

& I can't stop thinking about meg's comment about this bot being a 'solid rock.' don't know how that ties into our guesses so far..

    blah, I'm stumped!

  15. thanks jade, this has been racking my brain lol. although, everyone's saying tintin! im going to be slightly different and say nick bot.

  16. My comment disappeared! I had said Tintin but then Jade's tweet makes me assume that we're wrong with that one... ummm... some sort of superhero? I'm not too up to date on my pop culture. Haha. I'll dwell on it.

  17. spiderman isn't steampunk-ish enough.. unless you're going for Spiderman Noire series, which does have the goggles...that does sound nice.

  18. It wouldn't be so obvious as Calvin and/or Hobbes... would it?
And since Tintin seems to be wrong (according to Jade's recent tweet)... maybe it really is some kind of Super Chandler. hah
That Calvin & Hobbes hint has me thinking, too... what's the common thing between all of these guesses I've made. They all have some sort of alter-ego story. Superman/Spiderman have alter-egos, and in a way so do Calvin & Hobbes. Maybe it's even an alter-ego Nick, something none of us know about him?
So I'd say it's an alter-ego bot of some sort... I know that's broad but it makes sense to me because alter-ego stories often deal with sudden and unexpected change. An alter-ego Chandler, maybe? Who's dressed up like a journalist, but has a secret little cape under his shirt? I'm really unsure about the specifics, but I think I'm close. It would make sense that an alter-ego "thrives in adventure." I can't seem to connect the last couple lines of Jade's hints, though...

  19. I'm going to go with Indiana Jones.
According to Meg, a few people already guessed close to the answer. She also told us it's not a "Jade-bot." In older blog posts, she mentioned that she's going to hold off on making superhero pieces so that eliminates the superman/spiderman options. Based on Jade's tweet, it's not Tintin. Biggest hint in my opinion is that the answer has already been guessed (or something close to it at least). A few people guessed Indiana Jones, he's not a "Jade-bot," he doesn't have super powers, he's not Tintin... Maybe I'm wrong (I probably am, haha), but I'll stick with Indiana Jones.

  21. oh gosh, if it was a clark/superman bot...i'd DIE! (but I don't think it is, still cause of the superhero delay post :(

I think you're onto something with the alter-ego. Maybe it's a Meg bot? Something symbolic of herself? ;)

  22. I'm so stumped! UGH, if anything it's gotta be a Nick-bot... He's probably a behind-the-scenes journalist or something.

I kid... I think it's Tintin. but since everyone is saying that and I'm probably already too late--- Meg-bot!

    ReplyDelete
  23. even tho I wont be able to buy it Ill go with a Meg Bot dressed as Indiana Jones!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well if it's not Tintin (man that would've been such a cool bot), I'd probably have to go with Indiana Jones (which would also be an awesome bot).

Meg mentioned "solid rock" before and Indy is an archaeology prof, which involves rocks.

Although the thing I'm stumped with is she said they guessed "close" to the answer. If it really is Indy, guessing that it's Indy isn't really "close," it's spot on.

  25. So reading the later comments is making me rethink my earlier guess, haha. I guess I took the Calvin & Hobbes idea too literally, in a way, with my Tintin (+ Snowy!) guess. Although I must admit that if it were Tintin, I'd be buying one as quickly as I could, lol.

Now I want to guess a Nick-bot, because you mentioned that he has been your solid rock. You've been talking about change & new adventures & something close to your heart, & since he's been with you with moving & adjusting to a new place & all that, it seems appropriate. Also, photography is a sort of journalism, isn't it? And he takes fab photos of your lovely jewelry and stuff. Soo.. hahaha.

But if we were talking generally instead, it could be a reporter or photographer Chandler (though I'm leaning more towards the latter). ^_^

  26. I think rather than Indiana Jones, I would think it would be an explorer/traveler/vacationer-bot. I feel like I can relate when it comes to going to different places and taking lots of pictures and thinking of every day I leave my doorstep as an adventure. Life is an adventure, no matter how mundane or how simple or how normal a place can be. I can never leave my house without bringing my camera. I need to take a picture everyday, especially to places I have never been to. With life comes change. And changing from the normal routine is an adventure, risky or not. But we should all live out our lives without the shackles of daily routines.

  27. hahaha that is an awesome story! but i'm going to have to be a sheep and guess what everyone else has said so far, it's totally tintin! i looked it up on wikipedia because i had no idea what it was, now i'm wondering how you guys know about it! it says the syndication ended in 1983, which was just before your time!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well TinTin is starting to be relevant again since they are making a movie for it. Steven Spielberg is directing, Peter Jackson is producing, Edgar Wright (directed Scott Pilgram, Hot Fuzz, etc...) and Joe Cornish (Recently directed Attack the Block) wrote it. With such names attached to it, it's kind of a big deal. As to the guess, i don't think its TinTin but i don't have a new suggestion to add, just wanted to drop some knowledge :)

  29. To eric au: How can you not mention Steven Moffat as one of the writers in the upcoming Tintin movie?? Haha. XD He's currently the head writer for Doctor Who and is co-writer/producer of BBC's Sherlock (they're both awesome shows everyone needs to watch ;) ). I'm excited for the movie in large part for him (as big of a fan as I am of Peter Jackson). ^^
